The Calculate Inventory Button calculates what you should currently have on the shelf based on the Count Date. Retail takes the beginning count, adds items received and subtracts sold items (movement) to determine what should be on the shelf. Retail only calculates inventory for items that have a beginning count. The inventory quantity that should be on the shelf is then displayed in the “Ending” column in the product list box of this dialogue.
