The POS Partitioned Display Dimensions task gives the user the ability to manipulate the Split Screen Display which can be used at the Front End.

Important Note: The POS Partitioned Display form is intended for use by the reseller and fields should not be modified  unless necessary.  Any changes made to the split screen, especially to the alignment, may have a negative effect on the appearance

The Split Screen is used to display a video (.avi file) and the store logo on the right hand side. The products which are being rang up, discounts, totals and all other Front End information are displayed on the left side of the split screen. By default, touch screen is selected when signing on to the Front End.  To select partitioned display, sign on to Retail with a manager password, then check the box for Front End Administrator.   From the Retail System Information screen, click the Checkstand Tab.  In Mode, select Split Screen from the drop-down box.  Press Save, then Close to exit the dialogue. The Split Screen will be displayed the next time the checker signs on to the Front End.

The reseller or experienced user may create a logo for the Upper Right and Bottom Right areas of the screen. These must be named botright.jpg and topright.jpg and placed in the directory C:\Program Files\Retail\POS\BMPfiles. The dimensions must be 442x152 for the bottom right logo, and 461x159 for the top right logo. Videos may be added in C:\Program Files\Retail\POS\Videos.

Other changes which can be applied to the Split Screen are the Font Size, Color, and Style. These changes can be made to Running Total, You Saved, Scale Display, Item Input, and Item Count. To make these changes, click on POS Partitioned Display Dimensions under Setup in the Administration menu.

  1. Select the NameName_of_Field of the field you would like to change from the drop-down box.  The Internal NameInternal_Name, which is internally used by the system, displays to the right. 3. Change the Font ColorFont_Color or Back ColorBack_Color by pressing the ellipses buttons to the right of the fields. The pallet will come up, allowing you to select a color. Press the OK button to close the pallet and return to the POS dimension screen.

  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for each item you would like to change.
  6. Update Dimensions in the Synchronize Checkstands with Setup.
