The following attributes may be adjusted for new Section:

    • Schedule: Select a Schedule by pressing the up or down arrows to select a Schedule number.  The schedule must be set up in Schedule Maintenance. The schedules are used to limit the purchasing of items to certain days or times.
    • Unit of Measure: Select the type of measurement applicable for the product you are entering.
    • Foodstamps
    • Verify Age and Valid Age: The Verify Age flag forces the cashier to enter in the date of birth of the customer for all sales keyed into this open section.  Retail compares the age of the customer against the age entered in the Valid Age field. Retail also verifies the cashier’s age and prompts for a manager’s override if the cashier does not meet the valid age requirement. The manager overriding the transaction must also be a valid age. The minimum age for selling restricted products may be edited in POS Information.
    • Discount A and B: Select Discount A or both Discount A and B.  The Discounts are created in the POS Information Discount tab and attached to a customer in the Customer Maintenance task.  An example of how this works is: The section is set to a Discount A, discount #1 is created for 5% for everyday of the week for category A and then a customer is set up with Discount #1.  When the section is rang up at the Front End and the customer number is keyed in, the customer will receive a 5% discount on the purchase of the section item.
    • Tax Plan: Select the tax plans attached to this section
  1. Click on the Save Button in the toolbar to save the current Section information.
  2. Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for each Section you want to add or edit.
  3. Click on the Close Current Window button on the toolbar.

Tip: You can sort by clicking on the heading Section No, Section Name, or Department.  One click sorts ascending, and two clicks sort descending.

Note: To ring a product into a Section at the Front End key in the price followed by SE, the section number and press enter.  (Example: 200, SE, 102, Enter)
