In the Age Restrictions area, enter or edit the minimum age the cashier must be in order to sell age-restricted items such as tobacco and alcohol. This varies by law from state to state.

For example, in the products file, the purchasing of alcohol may be restricted to 21 years of age and over, but state law may allow a cashier of 18 to sell alcohol. When a customer purchases alcohol, the front end will verify both the age of the customer (21) and the age of the cashier (18). If the cashier is underage, a manager can override the sale at the checkstand.
