Front End Tender Limit Messages
The Tender Limit messages on the Front End are dependent on your Back End Tender Limits settings.
NOTE: The refund amount pertains to the TENDER that can be given, not to the amount of the item.
You can set up your Refund Security limits in Security Administration.
- The examples below are according to the settings above.
- Flag Requires Mgr Auth to force a Manager to override a Refund to Cash transaction. Any Cash Refund will require a manager override.
- If Require Mgr Auth is NOT flagged, then the system looks at the Max and Overall Max for refunds.
- Try to Refund an item under the $10.00 Max. When the Cashier presses TL, CA, she will receive a message on the Front End.
- If Decline is pressed or an incorrect Manager Password is entered, there will be a message that the Security Checking Failed.
- Try to refund an item over the Overall Max. The cashier will NOT be prompted for a manager override because the Overall Max is exceeded. (NOTE: When setting up your tenders, make sure you make the overall max high enough. The cashier must VDTL or Cancel the order.
- Allow Pickups and Loans. Enter the Till Limit, which will notify the cashier that the amount of cash in the drawer has reached the First Limit entered.
- When the Till Limit has been exceeded, the message "Threshold exceeded for CASH" comes up. This is a 'Soft' warning, that is, no override will be required, and a pickup will not be forced. At this time the cashier should notify the manager that his drawer has reached the limit.
- When the Mandatory Limit is exceeded, then the Manager MUST perform a pickup. The Manager must override to allow the transaction to be rung up. After completing the transaction, the manager should do a pickup, otherwise every transaction must be overridden.
- If the Change Limit has been exceeded, a Manager Override will be required.
