The Tender Limit messages on the Front End are dependent on your Back End Tender Limits settings.

NOTE: The refund amount pertains to the TENDER that can be given, not to the amount of the item.

You can set up your Refund Security limits in Security Administration.



  1. The examples below are according to the settings above.
  2. Flag Requires Mgr Auth to force a Manager to override a Refund to Cash transaction. Any Cash Refund will require a manager override.


  1. If Require Mgr Auth is NOT flagged, then the system looks at the Max and Overall Max for refunds.

  1. Try to Refund an item under the $10.00 Max. When the Cashier presses TL, CA, she will receive a message on the Front End.


  1. If Decline is pressed or an incorrect Manager Password is entered, there will be a message that the Security Checking Failed.
  2. Try to refund an item over the Overall Max. The cashier will NOT be prompted for a manager override because the Overall Max is exceeded. (NOTE: When setting up your tenders, make sure you make the overall max high enough. The cashier must VDTL or Cancel the order.



  1. Allow Pickups and Loans. Enter the Till Limit, which will notify the cashier that the amount of cash in the drawer has reached the First Limit entered.



  1. When the Till Limit has been exceeded, the message "Threshold exceeded for CASH" comes up. This is a 'Soft' warning, that is, no override will be required, and a pickup will not be forced. At this time the cashier should notify the manager that his drawer has reached the limit.



  1. When the Mandatory Limit is exceeded, then the Manager MUST perform a pickup. The Manager must override to allow the transaction to be rung up. After completing the transaction, the manager should do a pickup, otherwise every transaction must be overridden.



  1. If the Change Limit has been exceeded, a Manager Override will be required.
