Gift Card Maintenance
Gift Cards Maintenance is used to set up gift cards, that can be sold at your store if you are using the ServerEPS or First Data Datawire credit/debit/gift card interface. These gift cards can be purchased at your store for redemption at many different retail stores and restaurants. NOTE: Gift Cards MUST be entered in this form, NOT Product Maintenance.
1. Enter the Brand Name (such as Nordstrom), Department, Section, and Vendor.Brand_NameGift_Card_Department_NameSection_5Gift_Card_Vendor
2. Enter the Number of CardsNumber_of_Cards of different denominations, then press the Add ButtonAdd_Button_1. Retail will create that number of lines so that you only need to enter the UPC, Cost, Price, and UPC Link for each denomination. For example, if you have 10 cards with $25 value, and 10 with $50 value, enter '2', NOT '20'.
3. UPC_Link_for_Gift_CardsUPC Link is used for the activation fee associated with certain types of cards (such as American Express gift cards). Enter the UPC in Product Maintenance before adding it to the gift card in this form.
4. Most gift cards have 2 bar codes, a short UPC and a long UPC. Enter the short UPC in Gift Card Maintenance.
5. If the card does not have the short UPC, enter the first 11 digits of the long UPC.
6. On the Front End, the cashier will scan the long UPC. If the wrong UPC is scanned, a message will be displayed on the cashier screen notifying the cashier of the error.
7. After entering the UPC, press the arrow keys to move into the next fields. Enter the cost and price. When the Price is entered, it will be automatically added to the Product Description.
8. Press Save when you are finished with all of your entries. Any errors or omissions will be highlighted in red. Make your corrections and press Save, or press exit to leave without saving the incorrect fields.
The Select Products portion of the form is used for searching groups of cards to view or edit.
1. From the Column Column_1field, select the first search criterion, such as Description (card name) or Department.
2. Select the OperatorOperator_1, such as = for a Department Name, or Greater Than > when searching for cards greater than a specific price.
3. Enter the ValueValue_1 in the last search field, if searching by description or a price; or select from the sub-form that opens when searching by Department or Section.
4. You can enter more criteria in the second row to filter your products further. Click in the CheckboxCheckbox to activate the second row.
5. Press the Find ButtonFind button. Only Gift Cards meeting the above criteria will be displayed in the grid.
