This function will produce a Store Sales Report by department or section for the time period selected on the Stores Sales form.

The following is a calculation of some of fields:

    • Cost of Sales: The Cost of Sales field is calculated minus open department sales.
    • Gross Margin: Gross Margin is ((Sales  Open Department Sales)  Cost of Sales) / Sales. This is the profit of sales excluding open department sales.
    • Items: The number of items sold. Items are tracked according to the setting selected in System Information, Default tab. In the Track Weighted Items Count, select the method that you want to view store sales by.  A product can be counted by item count or by actual weight. For example, a package of chicken passed over the scanner can be counted as 1, or by the weight, 3.45. The items do not include items linked by UPC, such as CRV.
