The Show Product Movement dialogue is used to display or print information about a single product for a specified reporting period. The information displays for the time period you specify.

The product movement report screen also displays the product quantity for the last 13 weeks, the last 12 months, and the last 10 years for the product you specify. To display these values, you must have history files in Retail to support the reporting.

To begin, enter:

  1. The UPCUPC_Code_Product_Movement.
  2. The Start DateStart_Date of the reporting period.
  3. The End DateEnd_Date of the reporting period.
  4. Press Pricing DayPricing_Day in the Toolbar to select your Week Ending Day.
  5. The top of the screen displays information about a product, based on the Start and End date you specify. It also displays:
    • Product Description
    • Pack/Size
    • Quantity: Displays the quantity sold of the product you selected for the reporting period.
    • Customers: Displays the number of customers who purchased the product you selected for the reporting period.
    • Total Cost: Displays the total cost of the product you selected for the reporting period.
    • Total Revenue: Displays the total sales dollars for the product you selected for the reporting period.
    • Margin: Displays the profit margin for the product you selected for the reporting period (Price minus cost, divided by the price).
    • Gross Profit: Displays the profit from sales for the product you selected for the reporting period.
    • Ad Loss: Ad Loss is calculated as follows: The number of items sold at the sale price multiplied by the normal price, then subtracting the sale price.
  1. To include movement for an entire group of products with the same Item Code, flag the Include all Products with the same item code.
  2. To display the movement quantity for the previous 13 weeks, press the Total ButtonMovement_During_Previous_13_weeks_Totals_button to the right.
  3. To display the movement quantity for the previous 12 months, press the Total ButtonMovement_During_Previous_12_months_Totals_button to the right.
  4. To display the movement quantity for the previous 10 years, press the Total ButtonMovement_During_Previous_10_years_Totals_button to the right.
  5. You can print this report by selecting the print button in the button bar.

Note: The Sales amount displayed on this form is calculated as follows: Total Sales (excluding taxes & coupons) – Department Level Sales – Section Level Sales – Electronic Coupons.
